STIR
As I've said before, pie is my favorite food, so what better place to visit than The Pie Hole in Downtown LA’s Arts District. This place was poppin’ on a Sunday before noon, filled with people enjoying pies on pies on pies and coffee. Immediately, I knew it was my kind of spot because if you like pie, let’s be friends!

There were so many choices of pie including savory pies. I ordered a slice of their Earl Grey pie, Chocolate Crustado pie, and Mac ‘n Cheese pie.

The Earl Grey pie was so smooth and fluffy with such a deep taste of earl grey tea. There was a thin bottom layer of chocolate, which brought the whole pie together. The pistachio crumbled on top provided just the right amount of saltiness to bring out the flavor of the earl grey filling. The flavors were so intense, but it felt so light that I convinced myself it had no calories.

The Chocolate Crustado was like a chocolate croissant on steroids because let’s be honest, the best part about a chocolate croissant is the chocolate. The chocolate was so rich and had a perfect chew with its brownie-like texture. The caramel and sea salt enhanced the richness of the chocolate. I was tempted to eat it like a slice of pizza…and by tempted I mean I did. #noshame.

Lastly, let’s talk about the Mac ‘n Cheese pie. I mean, whaaaaaat? Shut your pie hole! I love mac ‘n cheese and I love pie, so it was an easy decision. I stuck a spoon in it to take my first bite and I honestly had to take a moment to admire its beauty. The steam was coming out in slow motion and the smell of butter and cheese filled the air. The outside of this pie was the perfect ball of wonderfully flakey crust to hold the creamy, cheesy goodness within.

The Pie Hole is not your typical pie shop and will satisfy any craving you have whether it’s for something sweet or salty. In their own words, printed on their own walls, "Pie is Love" and I agree.

STYLE
I paired my outfit this last weekend at The Pie Hole with the Earl Grey pie because I loved the soft and neutral colors with the pop of green from the pistachio. The layer of chocolate above the piecrust matches perfectly with my Michael Kors caged heels.

This suede double layer strappy Zara top has chained detail in the back, which I love. This tank is flirty and flowy with fantastic texture and detail from the double layer.  Matching my outfits with food opens my eyes to new color combinations that I typically would not think to wear together in an outfit. For example, with this shirt, I probably would have picked a subtle silver necklace to go with the chain on the back of the shirt. However, the pistachio from the pie pushed me to be more adventurous in my choice of color and style. I chose a gorgeous multi-stone green statement necklace with a matching ring. The necklace gives an otherwise neutral toned outfit a splash of color.
